1st-2nd Grade

Beautiful Savior offers a Christ-centered, activity-based approach to education. Here at Beautiful Savior we want to create a learning environment where students can grow in their faith while developing emotionally, physically, socially, and academically. We begin fostering independence and responsibility in order to prepare students for the next multi-grade classroom.

There are eight major areas of instruction in 1ˢᵗ-2ⁿᵈ grade. These are language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, religious study, the arts, physical education, and music. The activities that students participate in include, but are not limited to:

-Involvement with art history, medium variety, techniques, and skill development
-Practicing reading, spelling, vocabulary, penmanship, grammar, and writing
-Participating in listening, theory, rhythm, and singing
-Students will be introduced in fitness skills and sports
-Students will participate chapel, devotions, Bible history, and hymnology
-Studying history, government, culture, goods, and services
-Learning about plants, animals, sound, light, air, and weather

The 1ˢᵗ-2ⁿᵈ have the chance to develop their social skills by talking about their favorite things every Friday. Typing and coding are also used to prepare students for the future.

Hello and welcome! I'm a Colorado native. Growing up and living in Colorado Springs for 22 years, I started college going into psychology, but found my true calling in 2005. With love for children and my fun, loving, and goofy personality, I discovered I wanted to become a teacher. I completed my education within 3 years at Martin Luther College in very cold Minnesota. For the last 14 years, God has led me to different teaching positions! I have taught in Minnesota, Colorado, Nebraska, and now here in Ohio! I’m very excited to start my second year here at Beautiful Savior, learn more about the families, and continue to learn as a teacher as well!

I love trying different strategies to help those learning to read and learning new skills. Encouragement, love, and comfort is something I strive for in the classroom and with the parents of the students. There is always something to learn, and I’m excited to learn along with the students as well. The most important thing I feel I have gained in these experiences is my love for his precious little lambs and knowing the most important thing I can teach them is God’s Love. I am extremely excited to be teaching the students not only academics and social skills, but about the greatest love of all, God’s Love.
